Miss World Defends Miss Universe from Attacks!
QUEZON CITY, Philippines – Human Rights advocate and future lawyer Vanessa Ponce, Miss World 2018, defends Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray from attention-seeking body-shaming bullies
In a TPP News Exclusive, Vanessa addressed the issues that hound her 2018 co-Alpha Queen, Miss Universe Catriona Gray, especially the body-Shaming attacks Catriona got from local beauty queen of a third-tier International Pageant,
“That is unacceptable! We have to respect each other, we are in the same role… and we are all connected! What they do affects us, and what you do affects others.
“We have to stand for each other and make sure to help each other take us up and not bring us down. That doesn’t make any sense!”

Twenty-seven-year-old Sylvia Vanessa Ponce de Leon is a humanitarian who has always set her eyes on changing the world in what ever way she best can.
She is the first Mexican ever to win the Miss World title and a Degree in International Business holder from the University of Guanajuato.
Born and raised in the city of Guanajuato, Piscean Vanessa also earned a diploma in Human Rights, has spoken for the National Youth Institute, and became part of the board of directors of a rehab center for girls. She works at a school called Nenemi which gives intercultural education to children from indigenous tribes. It is clear that Vanessa takes “beauty with a purpose” to heart.
Vanessa, together with Miss World Organization Chairperson Julia Morley is in the Philippines for a few weeks to take part in the Mr. World 2019 Competition that’s set to happen on the 23rd of August at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
